Saturday 10th October no doubt made a difference in the lives of ladies. The conference was DIVAS Conference and the venue was sweet sensation hall, Alagomeji Lagos. This twice in a year conference is a self-esteem clinic where single ladies can come and diagnose themselves of being healthy, low, or overly high in self-esteem through the principles taught. I Convener expatiated on the principles ladies could imbibe toward having a healthy self-esteem.dwelling on the fact that every lady has been wired a Diva, Unsurpassed by countless others, consummate and ultimate. Ways of avoiding heartbreak in relationship as well as avoiding the wrong kind of men were taught. Every lady became aware that they have a built-in alert system and that they all vary. From spiritual to mental and then to the physical types of Red alert.
Bolatito Junaid and Funsho Williams President and vice president respectively of Pink belle Foundation, were on hand to lecture the ladies on breast cancer and its prevention. Self examination exercises were taught and the participants practiced touching their breasts in the hall. Breast Confidence was imparted, no matter how small or big they were.
Participants asked an Avalanche of questions that were tackled. ladies were admonished never to judge or place value on themselves based on what the negativity the media sells to

Or were you sloppy with issues and you just let them slip away? hmmmm....If yours was all or any of the above,begin now to work on yourself against the new year....am implying 2010. How do you do this?Begin to see every dream,goal,aspiration etc as something you should throw your best shot at.yeah.... Excellence is the watch word here.Without it we just might keep struggling with our goals and not attain them. So when next you are bent at achieving a task,and it seems you still are too far from it,then maybe you should step back a little,re-strategiseand then fire. till i catch you soon. keep dreaming large.
Williams J. Bennet tells a story about Peter .A boy who is strong and able yet sadly flawed by an attitude of impatience. Always dissatisfied with his present condition, Peter spends his time day dreaming about the future. The following day in the school Peter has the first opportunity to put the silver ball to use. The lesson is dragging, and the teacher scolds peter for not concentrating.Peter fingers the silver ball and gives the thread a slight tug. Suddenly the teacher dismisses the class and Peter is free to leave school. He is overjoyed! How easy his life will be. From this moment Peter begins to pull the thread a little everyday. But soon peter begins to use the magic thread to rush through larger portions of life. Why waste time pulling the thread just a little everyday when he can pull it hard and finish school in a hurry? He does so and then finds that he is out of school and then a businessman mogul. He also uses the technique to rush through his engagement to his sweetheart. He couldn’t wait for the wedding day, so he uses the string again to hasten the wedding day. He continues this through his life, when hard times come; he escapes them through his magic thread. When the baby cries at night, when he faces financial struggles, when he wishes his own children to be launched in careers of their own, he pulls the thread and bypasses the discomfort of the moment. But sadly when he comes to the end of his life, he realises the emptiness of such an existence. By allowing impatience and discontentment to rule him, Peter has robbed himself of life’s richest moments and memories. With only the grave to look forward to, he deeply regrets ever having to use the magic thread. FINALLY OFTEN TIMES PEOPLE WANT SEX IN AN UNTIMELY ROMANCE, DATING, CALL IT WHATEVER YOU DEEM. I am a daughter of Zion, and Permit me say that I owe no one an apology for this.
Growing up as a child, I was an extremely shy person. I couldn’t walk past a group of people be it young or old, let alone looking them in the face. Perhaps because I had the notion that everyone could be looking at me.
Question! Why in the world could I have thought that? Answer! That is just one shallow way a Timid person thinks and so I wasn’t an exception.
I knew what I was experiencing at that stage was an anomarly that needed attention. The more I saw spunky, audacious, and confident children, the more I thought them to be forward and loud. However one thing I never realised until later was that they had unconsciously choosen the path of confidence, responsibility and self expression. Features I lacked!
So the quest for the ‘authentic me’ started. Let me digress and say that the quest for one’s authentic selve isn’t a today-tomorrow task. I must tell that one needs time to really sleep, ponder, meditate and build other sleeping areas in their lives.
During those years I quivered in sheer timidity, I knew deeply on the inside that there was a part of me that surged to be heard. How I yearned to explode and be heardheard but paradoxically I was being chained and suppressed by the enemy called TIMIDITY.
How awe-inspiring that all that have been totally cleaned out now.
I Look back at those days and say that it was sheer FOOLISHNESS (Please permit me say that).
That one thing I effortlessly would do, be fulfilled in and derive joy in, is what has become today my calling/function/purpose.
So I ask! Is it taking you eternity to ‘find your rhythm? Do you see those who are dancing to the resonating notes of destiny as people who must have two heads or better put’ are out-of –this- world folks? Lies, lies.lies
Duh! The reason you think that way is because they have choosen a path that you lack the spunk and determination to.
Times have changed. What obtained with our parents (old schools) just mightn’t now. Ideas rule the world and you can not conceive that magical idea if you aren’t focused and in line with your Gift.
So I ask the million bucks question, don’t you think it’s high time you put yourself in a determined corner and say ‘I must look within to find my purpose’?
Just when you do, you’d find that it gets so intoxicating so that you would almost forget you were once a prey to TIMIDITY.

Be on Purpose
Do you make CONSCIOUS decisions about how you spend your time? Do you make an effort every day to live life to its fullest? That's what being on purpose is all about -- not just "going with the flow" like so many people do, but really taking charge of your life. But in order to do this, you must have some idea of what you want. You have to have a purpose to "be on purpose." Only then, can you translate your larger mission into deliberate daily acts that will build the kind of life you desire. Let's spend some time this month thinking about who and why you are, and what you would like the rest of your days to be like.
Practical organising tips
How do you want to be remembered? If you imagine the kind of FOOTPRINT you want your life to leave behind, you can decide which steps will get you there. What do you want people to say about you when you are gone?Now don’t get scared o. Who do you want to be?
Make each decision a DELIBERATE one. Asking yourself which path is in alignment with your purpose will save you from snap judgments and rash decisions -- and ultimately lead you toward a more fulfilling and meaningful existence.
Live in the PRESENT moment. We lose so much time -- worrying about the future, functioning on autopilot, zoning out. Being "on purpose" means participating fully in every minute of your life -- both the pleasant and the unpleasant ones.
